Cathedral Chords

Perth Cathedral is delighted to be involved with Perth Festival of the Arts! This 10 day festival of arts and experiences caters for all ages and tastes from free concerts and young musican recitals to the best in world class preformers. In addition to its usual opening hours, two events are due to take place at St Ninian's Cathedral.

Free non ticketed.  Refreshments provided

Visit Perth Cathedral, St. Ninian’s and experience an afternoon of inspirational Cathedral music.   The organ recital will feature music by J.S. Bach, Howells, Karg-Elert and Parry and will be performed by the Cathedral’s Director of Music, Geoff Bolton.

This will be followed by  Choral Evensong led by the Cathedral choir and is due to include:

Introit: Locus Iste (Bruckner)|
Responses:  Rose
Setting:  Evensong Service ‘Coll Reg’ (Howells)
Anthem:  Evening Hymn (Balfour Gardiner)

This is an opportunity for people of all faiths to enjoy 45 minutes of sacred music and quiet reflection.

Festival audiences are welcome to attend from 15:00 for both the organ recital and Choral Evensong (refreshments served in between) or to attend from 16:30 for Choral Evensong only.
